My approach prioritizes building a safe and trusting relationship as the foundation for deepening self-awareness and more fully contacting the natural healing powers within. The therapeutic experience often begins with struggles, pain and frustration in such areas as relationship, health, stress, meaningful work, compulsions, anxiety, and depression. The goal is to move towards increasing vitality, wholeness, authenticity, and a greater sense of self and self-esteem.
I have received training in a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches, including Integral Psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS). In Integral Psychotherapy psychological healing and growth are seen as part of a holistic process of unfolding, combining discoveries of east and west in an relational and embodied approach to depth psychotherapy. The Internal Family Systems Model (IFS) takes the perspective that the consciousness is made up of a true self or spiritual center, known as the Self and a “family” of relatively discrete sub-personalities each with its own viewpoint and qualities and uses family systems theory to promote harmony, healing and personal growth.
